East vs. West and North vs. South

There won't be a better all-star series matching top seniors-to-be and juniors-to-be than this weekend's Southwest Future All-Star Series at the Urban Youth Academy in Compton. Games matching East vs. West and North vs. South are scheduled for Saturday at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. The championship game is Sunday at 5 p.m.

It's a who's who of top players expected to participate, including Mater Dei's Ty Moore, Chatsworth's Raul Camas, Harvard-Westlake's Lucas Giolito and Arden Pabst, Hart's Luke Persico, Edison's Timmy Lopes, Bishop Amat's Rio Ruiz, Gardena Serra's Dominic Smith, Alemany's Corey Sims, Valencia's A.J. Balta, El Toro's Tyler Brashears, Servite's Cole Irvin and Westlake's Collin Yelich.

Changes

Dave Lawn, the baseball coach at Anaheim Servite, is leaving to become the athletic director at San Juan Capistrano JSerra. Lawn will also become the associate head coach to Brett Kay. JSerra Athletic Director Jim Hartigan will focus on his duties as football coach.

In another change of duties, Dan Peters, a former Long Beach Millikan baseball coach, is the new athletic director at Mission Viejo Trabuco Hills
